- Description: Beautiful antique Victorian lamp. Oil or kerosene lamp in opaline glass painted and gilded with floral motifs, in excellent condition. Parts: base, bowl, burner, glass and lampshade. Supported on bronze feet. The raised base served to raise the light higher and avoid the waste of oil and petroleum. The base foot was generally made of bronze and the body of the lamp was generally made of porcelain or decorated glass, the hat could be made of satin or opaline glass. The flame was carried by an adjustable wick that came out of the burner.
