This piece is distinguished by its austere yet elegant lines, period joinery, and original patina, a testament to its authenticity and age. Its appearance in Italy and France dates back to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The first chests of drawers were simple, single-piece containers with legs to raise the piece. Later, for greater practicality, the compartment was divided into multiple stacked drawers called "càntere."
